gas furnace on and off too often
Is your gas furnace turning on and off too frequently?
If so, the likely culprits are a dirty furnace air filter, a blower motor problem or a thermostat problem.
- The easiest thing to check is the furnace air filter, if it’s been more than a month or two since you replaced the filter go ahead and replace it now.
- If the issue is with the blower motor there are a few things we suggest to do. Oil blower motor lubrication ports (usually at each end of shaft) with light weight oil. Check for proper belt tension. The belt should depress about 1″ at center of span.If the belt is too loose, tighten the belt. If the belt looks frayed or worn you will want to replace the belt or better yet call a heating professional.
